This Hawke's Bay Syrah has a complex array of floral, cherry, plum, pepper and smoky aromas. The palate is supple and silky with base notes of vibrant fruit, fine tannins and a long fresh finish.

VINTAGE SUMMARY
2017 was a vintage like no other in Hawke’s Bay. A moderate spring was followed by a dry summer and an unseasonal period of rain in early April. All fruit was harvested before the untimely rain events which resulted in a complex, elegant and fresh wine. The fruit was sourced from free draining vineyards outside Hastings that consistently grow excellent Syrah grapes. Intensive canopy and yield management are used to produce fruit of outstanding quality.

WINEMAKING
Winemaker: Natalie Christensen
Harvest Date: 30th March – 3rd April 2017
Winemaking Analysis: Alc 12.5% pH 3.78 TA 4.49 RS 1.3g/l
The fruit was gently picked and pressed to give fine fresh juices with a soft texture. The batches were kept separate and fermented with a range of vessels, temperatures and yeast strains to give complexity of aroma and mouth feel. After aging on full yeast lees with regular stirring the batches were blended and prepared for bottling.
