The Milestone Series celebrates our dedication from the vineyard to the winery – creating benchmark wines from the Hawke's Bay region.


Lifted aromas of nashi pears and nectarine are complemented by fresh pastry characters derived from lees aging. The lush fruity mid-palate merges seamlessly into a lively finish. Delicious on its own, Pinot Gris is also a very food friendly wine, the subtle character and texture supporting but never dominating the dish.

VITICULTURE
The warm 2016 growing season offered good conditions for ripening Pinot Gris allowing the accumulation of ripe flavours in the clean, concentrated fruit. The fruit was sourced from the top terrace of our Kereru vineyard in Mangatahi with a small portion from the Esk valley. This free draining river terrace combined with sunny days and cool nights provide excellent conditions for growing ripe Pinot Gris.

WINEMAKER COMMENTS
The fruit was gently harvested and pressed before cool fermentation in stainless steel tanks. Post fermentation the wine remained on lees to preserve freshness and gain mouthfeel, before blending and bottling.

WINE AND FOOD
Lifted aromas of nashi pears, and nectarine are complimented by fresh pastry characters derived from lees aging. The lush fruity mid palate merges seamlessly into a lively dry finish supported by a fine ripe phenolic structure. Delicious on its own, Pinot Gris is also a very food friendly wine, the subtle character and texture supporting but never dominating the dish.
